Shell distances itself from Groningen-quake claims

Oil and gas firm Royal Dutch Shell P.L.C. has allegedly distanced itself from possible claims made against its unit Nederlandse Aardolie Maatschappij B.V. for earthquake damage in Groningen province, Dutchnews.nl reported citing media sources. The firm withdrew a clause regarding its responsibility for NAM in its annual report. The country's taxpayers have paid for most of the property damage in Groningen so far. Damage from the quake is expected to total billions of euros.
