Storm Eleanor costs insurers more than $50 million

Storm Eleanor, which struck Switzerland on Jan. 3 and Jan. 4, cost insurers more than 50 million Swiss francs ($52 million), Thelocal.ch reported. The storm uprooted trees, overturned train carriages and caused landslides and avalanches in the country. The Swiss Federal Office for the Environment said that the storm uprooted 1.3 million cubic meters of trees.
