Indiana bill proposes a closed drug formulary

An Indiana bill would require the adoption of a closed drug formulary for injured employees by next year.

S.B. 369, authored by state Sen. Randall Head, R-Logansport, was introduced this month and would require a drug formulary for employees who file notice of injury or occupational disease, according to the bill’s latest texts.

The bill would also require prior authorization for drugs that are not on the formulary from the employer.

S.B. 369 had its first reading in the Indiana Senate on January 4, and was referred to the Committee on Pensions and Labor.
