Sedgwick names international chief

Sedgwick Claims Management Services Inc. on Thursday named former Crawford & Co. executive Ian V. Muress as CEO of its international division.

London-based Mr. Muress will oversee and support Sedgwick and its loss adjusting unit Vericlaim’s international operations, a Sedgwick statement said.

Previously, Mr. Muress was CEO of international operations at rival claims management firm Crawford.

“Ian Muress is the ideal person to lead our rapidly growing multi-national business,” Mike Arbour, Sedgwick group president said in a statement. “His reputation for customer service is unparalleled, and his expertise will be instrumental as we work to bring our services to additional global markets,” he said.

The appointment follows Sedgwick’s December announcement that it had agreed to buy London-based loss adjuster and claims management firm Cunningham Lindsey Group Ltd.
