A Florida Senate bill introduced Tuesday would increase the pay of workers compensation judges.
Under S.B. 1412, sponsored by Sen. David Simmons, R-Longwood, “all full-time judges of compensation claims shall receive a salary equal to that of a county court judge. The Deputy Chief Judge shall receive a salary of $1,000 more per year than the salary paid to a full-time judge of compensation claims,” according to the bill’s latest text.
In addition, S.B. 1412 would increase the term of judge of compensation claims from four years to six.
If enacted, the legislation would take effect on July 1, 2018.
