Heavy rains, floods hit northern Italy

Heavy rains lashed northern Italy on Dec. 12 causing the Enza and Parma rivers to overflow their banks and flood houses, Timesofmalta.com reported. The worst hit areas included the towns of Lentigione and Brescello, in the northern Italian province of Reggio Emilia. Meteorologists said that heavy rains will continue to batter the central part of the Italian peninsula in the next few days.
