Workers comp for elves kicks off Santa’s Insurance

Bermuda-based Argo Group is making a Christmas list, too: Insurance for Santa.

“It takes more than a jolly laugh, an expert crew of elves and a trusty team of flying reindeer to pull off the world’s biggest gift delivery in a single night year after year,” states Argo’s Web site, which on Friday launched the “12 Days of Santa’s Insurance” with workers comp and workplace safety.

“Operating power tools and lathes, climbing ladders and performing the repetitive motions of wrapping presents and tying bows means even the most careful elf faces the risk of a workplace injury,” Thom Rickert, vice president and head of marketing at Trident Public Risk Solutions, told Argo.  

On Monday, day two, Argo tackled Reindeer Insurance, with collision and theft insurance among the coverages. Day three will be featured Tuesday.
