Unilever fined more than $70 million for anti-competitive tactics

Italian competition authority has fined The Unilever Group's Italian unit more than $71 million for abusing its position in the local ice cream market, Reuters reported. The authority said that Unilever had abused its position in single-wrapped ice creams which it sells through its "Algida" brand. Italian authorities started the probe in 2013 when local fruit lollies firm La Bomba S.N.C. Di Carletti Walter E Invelenato Yuri accused Unilever of forcing local retailers not to sell its popsicles.
