HDFC Ergo launches insurance policy for solar energy projects

India-based HDFC Ergo General Insurance Co. Ltd. has launched a solar energy shortfall insurance policy for non-traditional and non-physical damage risks faced by solar projects, The Economic Times reported citing the Press Trust of India. The five-year policy covers utility-scale solar farms, green fields, and portfolios of rooftop installations for commercial builds, among others. The policy covers risks such as insufficient amount of sunshine and its impact on the performance and incorrect installation of a system and its impact on the revenue models.
