Navigators International opens Madrid office

Navigators International, the London-based international underwriting unit of The Navigators Group Inc., said Monday that it is opening a new location in Madrid and appointing Carlos Peña Kaiser as country manager.

The business will focus on serving companies domiciled in Spain using its newly capitalized retail insurer, Navigators International Insurance Co. Ltd., the company said in a statement.

Mr. Peña Kaiser joins Navigators from W.R. Berkley Corp., where he was head of underwriting and middle-market operations. Previously, he spent nearly 15 years with Chubb Ltd., most recently as general manager of Spain. His experience includes overseeing underwriting operations across Southern Europe, according to the statement.
