Allianz unit opens new office in Beijing

Germany-based insurer Allianz S.E.'s unit Allianz China General Insurance Co. Ltd. has opened a new office in Beijing, The Financial reported. The China Insurance Regulatory Commission has granted a full branch license, and Allianz plans to provide property/casualty products including travel, personal accident, health and motor insurance, liability, marine, construction, energy, financial lines and trade credit. George Sartorel, regional chief executive for Asia Pacific at Allianz, said that the branch will help the insurer play a bigger role in some of China's key agendas including the Jing-Jin-Ji integration plan and the One Belt One Road initiative.
