Canadian fisheries firm files more than $1 million lawsuit against former CEO

Canada-based Baffin Fisheries Coalition has filed a lawsuit against its former chief executive Garth Reid for defrauding BFC of $1.4 million Canada ($1.1 million), CBCNews reported. The lawsuit alleges that Mr. Reid invoiced private construction work to BFC and its subsidiary Niqitaq Fisheries. "Garth Reid was able to manipulate the internal financial controls of NFL/BFC for his own profit, use and gain and thereby conceal the fraud," BFC said. The lawsuit seeks CAD 1.4 million in damage and the hand over of the property in question to BFC.
