Aon Benfield snags Zurich cyber expert

Aon Benfield named former Zurich North America professional liability head Catherine Mulligan as managing director and U.S. cyber practice group leader.

As head of professional liability at Zurich North America, a unit of Zurich Insurance Group Ltd., she managed miscellaneous and health care professional liability and security and privacy portfolios. She joined Zurich in 2010 and previously headed its specialty products errors and omissions team. 

George deMenocal, president and CEO of Aon Benfield US, said in a statement that Ms. Mulligan, who will be based in New York, has “driven the public sector dialogue around cyber insurance on a national scale, providing a testimony for the U.S. Senate Subcommittee on Consumer Protection, Product Safety, Insurance and Data Security, presenting to the Federal Advisory Committee on Insurance and regularly participating in Department of Homeland Security roundtables on the topic.”
