Heavy rains, floods damage crops worth more than $100 million

Heavy rains and floods in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh have caused an estimated 7 billion Indian rupees ($108.2 million) worth of damage to crops, The Times of India reported. The rains caused up to INR 5 billion worth of damage to crops in Kurnool, Anantapur, Chittoor and Kadapa districts and INR 2 billion worth of damage in Nellore, Prakasam, Srikakulam and Vizianagaram. About 150,000 acres of crops have been damaged in the state.
