Telecom firm plans to make $50 million claim for hurricane damage

Bermuda-based telecommunications firm Digicel Group Ltd. is planning to make an up to $50 million insurance claim for damage caused to its network and property in the Caribbean islands by hurricane Irma, The Irish Times reported. The claim is to be paid by several specialist insurers based in London. The firm's network in Anguilla and the Turks and Caicos Islands in the Caribbean suffered "extensive damage" as a result of the hurricane, Digicel said.
