Japanese automakers assess vehicle safety amid steel scandal

Japanese automakers said they were assessing the safety of vehicles containing products from local supplier Kobe Steel Ltd., which admitted to falsifying quality data, Yahoo News reported citing Agence France Presse. The automakers include Toyota Motor Corp., Nissan Motor Co. Ltd. and Honda Motor Co. Ltd., among others. Japan's industry ministry has ordered Kobe Steel to work with its clients across various industries to conduct urgent safety analysis.
