Manufacturing firms account for nearly one-third of cyber attacks: Kaspersky
Posted On: Oct. 6, 2017 4:00 AM CSTA report by Russia-based cyber security firm Kaspersky Lab Z.A.O. found that manufacturing firms across the world accounted for nearly one-third of the total number of cyber attacks in the first half, Memeburn reported. Engineering firms and educational institutions each accounted for nearly 25% of all attacks. The report found that 13.4% of industrial control systems were attacked by WannaCry ransomware in May, with the primary targets being the healthcare and government sectors. The ExPetr ransomware attacks in June contributed to "at least 50%" attacks on oil and gas and manufacturing firms, the report added.
