Everest taps former Chubb exec as deputy CUO for North America

Everest Re Group Ltd. on Friday said Mike Harnett has joined Everest Insurance from Chubb Ltd. in the newly created role of vice president and deputy chief underwriting officer for North America.
Mr. Harnett most recently served as Chubb’s senior vice president of corporate underwriting, Hamilton, Bermuda-based Everest Re said in a statement.
Based in Liberty Corner, New Jersey, his duties will include developing policies and procedures, underwriting strategy, product development and governance.
“Mike brings to our team over 30 years of underwriting discipline and expertise that will help propel our continued pursuit of market leading profitable growth,” Mike Mulray, chief underwriting officer of Everest Insurance North America, said in the statement.
