BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

Acrisure exec leaves brokerage: Sources

D. Michael Sherman has left acquisitive broker Acrisure L.L.C. as president of the firm after only four months in the position, sources have told Business Insurance.

Attempts to reach Mr. Sherman were unsuccessful and Acrisure General Counsel Adam Reed declined to comment on Mr. Sherman’s status at the company.

Mr. Sherman was named president of the Caledonia, Michigan-based brokerage at the end of April after joining Acrisure as a strategic advisor in January. Acrisure is the 14th largest broker of U.S. business, according to Business Insurance’s latest ranking.

Previously, Mr. Sherman was CEO of Dawson Insurance Inc. Following its sale to Assured Partners in 2012 he continued to head the business and served as vice chairman of Assured Partners Inc. but left Assured Partners last year.
