Navigators names president of specialty casualty

The Navigators Group Inc. said Monday that Tim Ryan has been promoted to the newly created position of president of specialty casualty. 

Based in Iselin, New Jersey, Mr. Ryan previously served as president of Navigators’ excess casualty division. In his new role, he will be responsible for the strategy and execution of Navigators’ specialty casualty product offerings in the wholesale marketspace, the Stamford, Connecticut-based insurer said in a statement.

Mr. Ryan will retain the day-to-day management of the excess casualty division, and Mark Richards, president of primary casualty, will report to him. Mr. Ryan will continue to report to Jeff Saunders, president of Navigators Specialty, according to the statement.
