RAS adopts Valen Analytics underwriting platform

Risk Administration Services has adopted Valen Analytics' InsureRight platform for workers compensation underwriting analysis.

RAS will leverage the Predict and Manage applications of Valen’s InsureRight platform “to improve underwriting and more accurately forecast the health of their book of business,” the companies said Wednesday in a joint statement. 

Predict provides underwriters with an analytics tool for risk selection and pricing for policies. Manage provides predictive indicators of overall performance, according to the statement. 

“RAS selected Valen Analytics because of their expertise in the workers compensation business and their belief that combining underwriting expertise with predictive analytics enhances decision making,” Robert Sobocinski, senior vice president of underwriting at RAS said in the statement.
