Cargo thefts rise more than 60% in EMEA: Report
Posted On: Aug. 17, 2017 4:00 AM CSTA report by U.S.-based supply chain management firm Sensitech Inc. found that cargo thefts in Europe, the Middle East and Africa grew more than 60% to 943 incidents in the second quarter, compared with 586 in the second quarter of 2016, American Shipper reported. The value of the stolen items totaled more than €63 million ($74 million). Theft of cash in transit made up the majority of the stolen amount at about €12.5 million. The United Kingdom, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium and Sweden suffered the highest number of cargo thefts.
