Generali's net profit increases nearly 4% in first half

Italy-based insurer Assicurazioni Generali S.p.A.'s net profit grew 3.7% to €1.2 billion ($1.4 billion) in the first half, 1asig.ro reported. The insurer's profit was driven by positive performance in all areas of operation. Gross written premiums declined 0.8% year over year to €36.6 billion, while property/casualty premiums grew 1.5% to €11.3 billion.
