BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

Chubb names property manager with North America commercial insurance

Chubb Ltd. said Thursday that Michelle McLaughlin has been named executive vice president and property manager for its North America commercial insurance division, succeeding Edward Radzinski, who is retiring in August after 39 years with the company.

Ms. McLaughlin, who is based in Whitehouse Station, New Jersey, will oversee the retail commercial property and package property insurance business that serves the middle market in North America, through 48 offices in the United States and Canada, Chubb said in a statement.

Ms. McLaughlin has been with Chubb for 25 years, most recently as package property manager for commercial insurance. She will report to Paul Lewis, executive vice president and chief underwriting officer, commercial insurance.

“Michelle's deep underwriting knowledge and her proven leadership capabilities will be instrumental in focusing on the growth of the organization while helping our commercial property clients in North America protect their assets,” Mr. Lewis said in a statement. “I look forward to working with her to build our future property business.”

This is the latest in a series of recent announcements from Chubb. On Wednesday, the company said that it had launched a multiline industry practice within its major accounts division for large transportation companies in the United States and Canada.

On Tuesday, Chubb said it had named Lee Farrow executive vice president and life sciences industry practice leader for North America, effective immediately.

And last week, Chubb said it had made several appointments in its global casualty and excess casualty lines of business for its North America major accounts division.

Bill Rabl was appointed executive vice president of Chubb global casualty; Lou Capparelli was named executive vice president of Chubb global casualty field operations, Bill Hazelton was appointed executive vice president of Chubb’s construction industry practice, environmental and excess casualty; and Joseph Fobert was named executive vice president of Chubb excess casualty.

Ross Bertossi was also named Chubb’s vice president of global underwriting.
