Magnitude-7.3 quake could cause more than $23 billion damage in Canada: Swiss Re

A report by Swiss Re Ltd. predicts that a 7.3-magnitude earthquake in Charlevoix, a seismic zone near Quebec City in Canada, could cause $30 billion Canada ($23.3 billion) worth of damage, The Globe and Mail reported. The report said that some of the most populated regions of Eastern Canada – Montreal, Ottawa and Quebec City – are situated in the most earthquake-prone areas.
