Zurich taps former AIG exec to lead commercial underwriting

Zurich Insurance Group Ltd. on Wednesday said it has named Sierra Signorelli as chief underwriting officer for commercial insurance.

Ms. Signorelli will be based in the U.S. in New York initially before relocating to Zurich, the insurer said in a statement. She will report to James Shea, CEO of commercial insurance.

She was most recently global head of network partner practice for American International Group Inc.

"I am very pleased that we have been able to attract someone with Sierra's strong technical expertise combined with extensive international market facing experience to Zurich,” Mr. Shea said in the statement.
