Axis Insurance, a unit of Pembroke, Bermuda-based Axis Capital Holdings Ltd., said Monday that former Zurich North America executive Meghan Anzelc has been named vice president of data and analytics.
In this new role, Ms. Anzelc, a physicist and data scientist, is responsible for expanding Axis’ data and analytics capabilities, the insurer said in a statement.
Previously, Ms. Anzelc was a vice president and lead data scientist with Schaumburg, Illinois-based Zurich North America, leading a team responsible for integrating predictive analytics within its underwriting and claims functions.
She is based in Chicago.
“Meghan is an accomplished data scientist and a proven leader with a strong understanding of the specialty insurance space,” Brian Kemp, executive vice president and chief pricing actuary for Axis Insurance, said in the statement.
Pembroke, Bermuda-based Axis Capital Holdings Ltd. said Wednesday that Chief Financial Officer Joseph Henry will retire at year-end and Peter Vogt, chief operating officer of its insurance unit, will succeed him.
