Lyft reports more diverse leadership than Uber

Lyft Inc. has a larger percentage of women and minorities in leadership roles than its competitor, Uber, according to a report the San Francisco-based ride-sharing service released earlier this month. The numbers show that 36% of Lyft’s overall leadership is female, compared with just 22% at Uber. Additionally, 12% of Lyft’s managers are African-American, Latino, Native American or multi-racial, vs. 3.1% at Uber. The company said in a blog post that releasing its diversity data will help hold it more accountable. The company also plans to provide unconscious bias training to managers and to work on broadening its recruiting pipeline.
