Natural disasters cause economic losses of nearly $1.8 billion
Posted On: May. 23, 2017 4:00 AM CSTVietnam's Central Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control said that natural disasters caused an estimated $1.8 billion in economic losses in 2016, ReliefWeb reported citing Vietnam News Service. As many as 5,000 houses were destroyed, while another 360,000 sustained varying levels of damage, as well as 800,000 hectares of rice and crops were damaged.
