Poor customer service prompts probes of 16 insurers

The China Insurance Regulatory Commission will conduct inspections of insurance companies with poor customer services records, Asia Insurance Review reported citing Xinhua. Local insurance authorities will conduct on-site investigations of 46 branches of 16 insurers, as well as seven part-time insurance agents, which had ranked poorly in terms of customer complaints in the past two years. The inspections, to be conducted from June to mid-October, will focus on violations including fraudulent sales practices, fake or missing customer information, and failure to pay small insurance claims efficiently.
