EU insurers oppose merger of banking and insurance regulatory bodies

European Union insurers have said that merging the EU's insurance and banking watchdogs could weaken financial supervision, London South East reported. EU policymakers have said that U.K.-based European Banking Authority could be merged with Germany-based European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority.
