Ikea invests in supply chain to avoid future disruptions

Netherlands-based furniture firm Inter Ikea Systems B.V. has invested in a local plastic recycling plant Morssinkhof Rymoplast B.V. to avoid the risk of supplier activities that could potentially damage the environment and disrupt its supply chain, Environmental Leader reported citing The Guardian. The investment will help Ikea reach its goal of manufacturing plastic products using only recycled materials by August 2020 and secure recycled material if regulations are passed requiring producers to include a certain percentage of recycled plastic in their products.
