Cyber criminals target French central bank's customers

France's central bank, Banque de France, said that cyber criminals are attempting to steal banking credentials from companies and consumers amid an outbreak of email and telephone hoaxes falsely attributed to the bank, Bloomberg reported. People have received emails with fake bills, reports of bank accounts being frozen and of loans being granted – intended to trick them into handing over account numbers and other credentials, Banque de France said. The criminals used name, logo, phone numbers and email addresses similar to the bank's own in these phishing attacks, the central bank added.
