Severe weather in April likely to cause multi-billion dollar insured losses: Aon Benfield

A report by Impact Forecasting L.L.C., the catastrophe modeling unit of U.K.-based reinsurance broker Aon Benfield Group Ltd., found that insurers, reinsurers and insurance-linked securities funds across the world are likely to face multi-billion dollar losses due to catastrophe and severe weather events that occurred in April, Artemis.bm reports. Cyclone Debbie's economic cost in Australia and severe and convective weather in the United States were the leading causes of losses falling to the insurance, reinsurance and ILS markets.
