Axis names new CFO

Pembroke, Bermuda-based Axis Capital Holdings Ltd. said Wednesday that Chief Financial Officer Joseph Henry will retire at year-end and Peter Vogt, chief operating officer of its insurance unit, will succeed him.

Axis said in a statement that Mr. Vogt will be appointed deputy CFO in July and take over as CFO on Jan. 1, 2018.

Mr. Vogt joined Axis in 2010. Prior to his current role, Mr. Vogt was CFO and COO of Axis’ accident and health business unit.

Mr. Vogt joined Axis from Penn Mutual Life Insurance Co. where he was CFO.

Following his retirement, Mr. Henry, who has been CFO for five years, will continue to serve as an advisor to the company.
