Lloyd's premiums grow 12%, but margins slim

Lloyd's of London's gross written premium grew 12% year over year to nearly £30 billion ($37 billion) in 2016 from £26.7 billion in 2015, Opojisteni.cz reported citing Versicherungswirtschaftheute. Inga Beale, chief executive of Lloyd's, said that underwriting margins were unsatisfactory and expressed concern about the narrowing gap between the results of Lloyd's and its main competitors.
