QBE North America names chief underwriting officer

QBE North America, a division of QBE Insurance Group Ltd., said Monday that it has named New York-based John Beckman chief underwriting officer.

He replaces Alan Driscoll, who has left the company, a spokeswoman said in an email.

Mr. Beckman will also serve as a member of the QBE North America executive management board and chair of the North America underwriting committee, according to the statement. 

Previously, Mr. Beckman was chief underwriting officer of CNA Financial Corp.’s commercial insurance unit.
