Airmic names John Ludlow chief executive

Airmic Ltd. will appoint John Ludlow as chief executive, effective June 13.

Mr. Ludlow has 15 years of experience in senior risk management positions and has been a director of London-based Airmic since 2012, including a year as senior deputy chair. He has also served as director at the London-based Institute of Risk Management and senior vice president of global risk management at Denham, United Kingdom-based InterContinental Hotels Group P.L.C.

“John has a fantastic record as a risk professional and is extremely well-regarded within the risk management community,” Clive Clarke, Airmic's chairman, said in a statement on Wednesday. “Having worked closely with Airmic for years, he not only understands the needs of our members, but also has the experience and vision to continue the excellent progress made under John Hurrell's pioneering leadership."

"The role of the risk manager is undergoing transformation, and John is the right person to support and promote our members in these fast-changing times,” he continued.

Mr. Ludlow will take over from Mr. Hurrell, who announced his decision to step down in January after nine years as chief executive.
