Cyclone Debbie causes more than $1 billion coal export losses

Queensland coal industry is likely to have lost $1.5 billion Australia ($1.1 billion) in exports due to cyclone Debbie, as more than 22 mines were forced to halt production while roads and ports were shut, Courier Mail reported. U.S.-based analytical firm IHS Inc. said that the cyclone led to the loss of 10 million tons of coal production.
