John H. Crowther, 92, a past president of the Kansas City, Missouri-based National Association of Professional Surplus Lines Offices Ltd., died March 27 in Big Sky, Montana.

Mr. Crowther served as NAPSLO president in 1980-81, NAPSLO Executive Director Brady Kelley said Thursday in statement.

Insurance businesses he had been involved with during his career included head of excess and surplus lines broker John H. Crowther Inc., which eventually became part of CRC Swett, a unit of Atlanta-based Swett & Crawford Inc.

“Jack's commitment to our industry and NAPSLO was invaluable, and he will be remembered as a dedicated professional and exceptional volunteer to the Association's early efforts,” Mr. Kelley said in the statement.
