More than 80% insurers plan to make acquisitions this year: KPMG

Nearly 85% of global insurers are planning to make one to three acquisitions this year, Asia Insurance Review reports citing a survey by U.S.-based consulting firm KPMG L.L.P. Two-thirds of insurers are planning to make a cross-border acquisition. Almost half of the respondents said they will focus on Asia Pacific for acquisition opportunities, and more than 10% said they are eyeing China as the target market. Nearly 95% are planning at least one divestiture, the survey found.
