More than 40% companies blame competitors for cyber attacks: Research

Research by Russian security firm Kaspersky Lab Z.A.O and German market research firm B2B International GmbH has found that 43% of the companies that were victims of a distributed denial-of-service attack believed that they were targeted by a competitor, Infosecurity reported. Around 38% believed that they were targeted by cyber criminals. Industrial sabotage was considered the most likely reason behind a DDoS attack, followed by political conspiracy and personal vendettas.
