Profitable growth not easy for insurers and reinsurers

With reinsurance pricing near the bottom of the cycle, insurers and reinsurers will find it difficult to achieve profitable growth this year, Artemis.bm reported. Profitability has declined in the insurance and reinsurance market and the higher catastrophe losses witnessed in 2016 have helped to erode a little of the comfort buffer that some insurers and reinsurers had been operating with. Lloyd's of London is one place where pressure is being felt more due to the higher cost of operating there.
