Cyber crime group targets Russian businesses

The Central Bank of Russia's cyber space monitoring service FinCERT has warned local businesses about a cyber crime group trying to steal funds by targeting financial accounting software, Infosecurity reported. The software is used by businesses to make bulk transfers using remote banking systems. The cyber crime group uses malware to spy on businesses and alter accounting software files by custom tools to execute fraudulent payment orders, said researchers from U.S.-based security solutions provider, ESET L.L.C.
