Denial of service attacks on internet of things increase: Study

U.K.-based security solutions provider Sophos Group P.L.C.said that cyber criminals will use distributed denial of service attacks to extend their reach during the year, as several internet of things devices contain outdated codes and operate with vulnerabilities, The Indian Express reported.

Financial infrastructure is at greater attack risk as the use of targeted "phishing" and "whaling" continues to grow, said Sophos. "Security products will need to tightly integrate network and client capabilities, to rapidly recognize security events after code is decrypted on the endpoint," Sophos said.
