Extreme weather, natural disasters among top global risks: Report
Posted On: Jan. 12, 2017 5:00 AM CSTA report by U.S.-based consulting firm Marsh & McLennan Companies Inc. and Zurich Insurance Group Ltd. has found that extreme weather, natural disasters and environmental and climate issues are among key risks facing the world in the coming 10 years, Artemis.bm reported. Extreme weather events were listed as the top risk in terms of likelihood, with natural disasters coming in third. Other risks include terrorism, cyber attacks, man-made environmental disasters and food crises, all of which are areas where insurance, reinsurance and insurance-linked securities markets can play a role.
