Natural disasters cause more than $3.5 billion damage in Canada

The Insurance Bureau of Canada has said that natural disasters caused $4.9 billion Canadian ($3.7 billion) worth of insured losses to in 2016, AM900 CHML reports. It was Canada’s costliest year recorded by analytical and meteorological information provider Catastrophe Indices and Quantification Inc. The Alberta wildfire, which caused CAD 3.7 billion worth of damage, was the most expensive disaster ever.
