Qatari consortium wins World Cup stadium construction insurance deal

A consortium led by Qatar Islamic Insurance Co. has won 80% of an insurance contract for capital expenditure work related to the construction of stadiums for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, Middle East Insurance Review reported citing Gulf Times. The consortium also includes Qatar Insurance Co. S.A.Q., Qatar General Insurance & Reinsurance Co. S.A.Q., Al Khaleej Takaful Group, Doha Insurance Co. Q.S.C. and Al Koot Insurance & Reinsurance Co. The capital expenditure insurance contract provides Construction All Risk and Third Party Liability coverage for seven of the eight planned stadiums for the 2022 World Cup.
