Natural disasters cause more than $60 million damage in Vietnamese city

A report by the provincial People's Committee of Vietnamese city Ca Mau said that natural disasters have caused $63 million worth of damage during the year, VietNamNet Bridge reports. Lam Van Bi, vice chairman of the committee, said that natural disasters damaged 53,000 hectares of paddy fields and 158,000 hectares of aquaculture land. It caused landslides and subsidence on 112km of roads and 4,700m of riparian areas.
