Willis Towers Watson P.L.C. on Wednesday said Mary O’Connor will lead the client and business development function for its operations in Britain.

Ms. O’Connor takes over from Ailsa King, who recently left the company to take a position at Marsh Ltd., according to spokesmen at both brokers.

Based in London, Ms. O’Connor will continue to co-lead the broker’s global financial institutions industry group and report to Nicolas Aubert, head of Britain, and Eric Speer, global industries lead, Willis Towers Watson said in a statement.  She will also have a seat on the boards of Willis Ltd. and Towers Watson Ltd., subject to regulatory approval.

She was also co-lead of the global financial lines business in corporate risk and broking with Alexis Faber, who, going forward, will assume sole leadership for this business.

Ms. O’Connor previously led Willis Towers Watson's Britain financial lines business segment.

"Mary's experience and client focus will help us to meet our goals of putting clients at the center of our organization and support our teams in making a real difference to clients," Mr. Aubert said in the statement.
